We're deep into Spring, and it's the perfect time to get out and enjoy the weather before it gets too hot! Canberra is bringing a whole lot of family-friendly events this week. Read on to check them out!
Waru by Bangarra
Bangarra’s first dedicated work for children, Waru, is running at the Canberra Theatre Playhouse from the 7th-9th November. Waru follows the story of Migi the green turtle, as she navigates her way back to the beach where she was born. The show, for 3-7 year olds, is an interactive and immersive introduction to Torres Strait Islander culture. Don’t miss your chance to see this special performance by the incredible Bangarra. Emma Memma: Boop & Twirl
Get your orange, pink and green outfits out, and head along to the Canberra Theatre Centre on the 9th of November for Emma Memma’s Boop & Twirl tour! Children will have the chance to sing, dance and sign with Emma Memma and her friends, including Elvin Melvin, BB Butterfly and Waffles the Wombat. This show is sure to be a whole lot of fun! La Fiesta - Canberra's Latin American Festival
Get ready, Canberra! The City Centre is about to come alive with the art, sounds, and flavours of Latin America. La Fiesta - Canberra's Latin American Festival is returning, and it will be a day full of energy, music, food, and art that you won't want to miss. The Queanbeyan Show

I AM A NEW WOMAN
I AM A NEW WOMAN is a series of screen prints by Parliament House artist-in-residence Alison Alder, celebrating 12 women who campaigned for a more inclusive democracy. This exhibition celebrates women who challenged societal norms, and fought to give Australian women a voice. The exhibition would be great for high school students, and particularly those interested in women’s rights issues. Find more info here.

SpringOUT is Canberra’s only pride festival.
