Tiny Creators Nature Play class in Canberra

Kids love to get grubby, it's a fact! Tiny Creators Canberra know how important it is to get kids into the outdoors and playing in nature, even if your little one gets a bit messy in the process.

Tiny Creators Nature Play classes are an incredible way to help your kids connect with nature, get creative, and use their imaginations. Read on to see what Nature Play classes are all about, and how you can get your kiddos involved in nature play for themselves.

What will I find at a Tiny Creators Nature Play class?

Nature play classes are for kids aged 2-5 years who love to play outdoors and use their imaginations. Tiny Creators classes are run outdoors, and have a range of activities for children to move between. From sensory, small world play, craft stations and a wind-down teepee, each sessions provides something different to spark curiosity.

The week we attended, there was a 'Gumnut Stew' station (which was a huge hit!), painting, magic wand making (with natural resources), playdough imprints, 'dirt' play, and the very popular pizza shop, where little ones could make their own 'pizza', cook it in an oven, and deliver it to their carer.

The classes are an hour long, and start with some an introduction and general house keeping. Children are then free to explore the stations and have some free play. The activities at each station are all super fun, and they also encourage various cognitive processes (such as problem solving), creativity, and facilitate learning through play.

The class was a beautiful way to spend some quality one-on-one time with my daughter, and to spend some purposeful time in nature. It really helped to recharge our batteries and connect through play. We found the session so inspiring that we even made our own Gumnut Stew (or as we like to call it, Witch's Potion!) at home with natural materials we found in our back yard. There are some really inspiring ideas on Tiny Creators Instagram page, where you can find different ways to explore and play in nature at home or in your community. It's definitely worth giving them a follow!

How do I find a Tiny Creators Nature Play class?

At present, classes are run monthly. The best way to keep on top of when and where classes are running, head to Tiny Creators Instagram page. They post regularly about upcoming sessions.

Are sessions pram friendly?

The session we attended was relatively pram friendly. Keep in mind that the classes are run outdoors, and sometimes the terrain may be a little bumpy or muddy. The session we attended at Fadden Pines had a nice open space where you could easily maneuver a pram.
