What is Tiny Teach?
Tiny Teach Canberra runs play-based educational classes that are designed and run by teachers and early childhood educators. Organised activities are developmentally appropriate and focus on sensory exposure, language development, movement, imagination, creative thinking and social skills.
How do I find Tiny Teach Canberra?
Tiny Teach classes are run at the Denman Village Community Centre. There is plenty of parking out the front of the Community Centre. Once inside, there is a lift for access with prams.
Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:15am - 10:15am and 11am - 12pm.
What will I find at this play-based learning class?
Inside a Tiny Teach Canberra class, you’ll find activities that expose your little one to different sensory and creative experiences through textures, sounds, smells and colours. The class starts with circle time, where you sing a few welcome songs with your bub. This encourages language development through songs and music. After this, there’s a brief explanation of the day’s theme (e.g. world friendship day, national science week, book week, national beach day) and how the set activities relate to the theme.
During the class, the activities offer different experiences for your little one. The movement activities include ways to support tummy time, crawling and cruising, running, walking, jumping, crossing the midline as well as fine motor, gross motor, hand and eye coordination. There are also imaginative play opportunities to support creative thinking and language development and encourage social skills such as managing emotions, turn taking and following directions and vocabulary extension.
The class is very social, for both parents and kids alike. The nature of the layout of activities means that your young one can move between activities freely, and this offers parents the chance to have a chat as they move about the space too. The classes are low-pressure and have a relaxed atmosphere, which is the perfect kind of environment for connecting with your bub and bonding with them over play. If you’re looking for awesome baby play-based learning classes in Canberra, then Tiny Teach is the place to go.
